The imprint of mother-and-child is almost immediate; just as fast, she cradles and takes it home. What to do, what to do? Yet beyond this already great exterior lies a film with quite the emotional heart.
Cast members of the original film titled TiyanakJanice de Belen and Lotlot de Leon, even make a brief appearance in this reboot. And hey, do not lose confidence—this is goldmine!
But even more than that, this film is a great example of excellence in low-budget filmmaking. Following rampant killings and other peculiar happenings surrounding the town, people also begin to question the true identity of the child, now called Angelo, even going as far as to name him the murderer.
With different elements combined, T’yanak may not be the usual horror-thriller that will make you jump out of your seats, but the solid storyline coupled with superb acting is enough to make you stay put till the end. The prop creatures in that film are things of nightmares, and here they are replaced with some practical effects and a lot of CGI.
