To many variables, I guess. Assuming this card is stable I am very happy right now. Initially mine didn’t work either, but now – fingers crossed – works fine for a couple of weeks now. Aoc-sat2-mv8 slow?
When I plug the 2 drives back into the motherboard, it booted back up fine, as expected. Notice how their loading is almost zero compared to ada4 through ada7.
It’s not recommended that you mix vdev types. Phil, I have the original CD.

OK that is definitely a good point. I got to GRUB, and booted the kernel, however, Linux only detected 4 of 6 drives, so booting failed I am booting from the raid5 array. Its certainly fast enough for me as I access all the files over gigabit ethernet which caps out at about the same speed. This should remove the need for HighPoint’s drivers to make the card work.
