MegaMID works to play. The channels are not reversed. W98SE did not auto-detect the sound card at all. Last one from the as-is lot! The MPU base port appears to be non-configurable. Code for the microcontroller has to be uploaded at boot time.

Last one from the as-is lot! If you’re las100 to open the datasheets, could you convert them to something more common like PDF for me? The sound effects test in setup works fine, as does every other application. As ofthe information provided in the Vogons Wiki page for this card is not too shabby.

Their negligence is awful Added the TEA T “sound fader control circuit” which provides volume, balance, bass and treble controls. CFG file and change the value of Dma0 or Dma1 as needed. Later developments in the sound stacks of Windows and Linux only served to put more nails in the coffin of sound quality. They just broke the default auto-detected Windows 98 SE drivers that were working albeit with monophonic sound effects and channel-flipped stereo MIDI.

EXE, that only runs under Windows. Do you have a picture of your card? It sometimes gets into a state that garbles OPL3 music and a power cycle is needed to reset it. It differs from the collection included in Version 4. It is relatively nice, providing menu-driven configuration of resources, a mixer, and a sound aos100.

Is it a sin to sharpie on a legend? It’s not the FM synthesis per se ; it’s that certain high-pitched instruments are way too loud relative to the others have a listen. It started with the GUSses, and now it’s everything. I did find this: Yet another case of DOS drivers buried within a Windows executable.
FM synthesis worked OK, but every attempt to use voice either looped, hung, or failed quickly. Mpxplay at startup often experiences a glitch where it starts playing at a very slow sample rate.
The UIDE incompatibility is completely gone.
I’ve seen Diamond placing the same label “Model no: It has its own configure script and can be built separately:. Linux prints no log messages during boot to acknowledge that a non-PnP Sound Blaster is present.
I don’t know what changed, but UIDE is now incompatible with sound cards more often than not. If it’s V or below, you don’t have the bug. The level of the speaker output in this case is comparable to the maximum line level of a more typical sound card. The kernel patch for spurious “sfxload: Cleaning those cruddy contacts didn’t help. The control labelled “FM” in alsamixer adjusts the volume of both synths, but FM is intrinsically louder.
